Walter Eugene Ocker

Walter Eugene Ocker, 58, of Newville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 3, 2023 at his residence.  He was born Saturday, April 17, 1965 in Carlisle to Mary Evelyn (Negley) Ocker of Newville and the late Samuel Jay Ocker.

He graduated from Big Spring High School in 1983 and worked for Fry’s Farm Fresh Eggs, Benny Randolf Paving and Snoke’s Excavating & Paving.  He had a heart of giving and was overflowing with love toward his family and friends.  His ear-to-ear smile and amazing bear hugs will be missed by all who knew him.   

He is survived by a loving sister, Delores Jean Albright and husband Lee of Newville; two brothers, William E. Ocker and wife Kerry of Newville, and Daniel L. Ocker of Carlisle; a sister-in-law, Jane Ocker of AZ; numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, David J. Ocker; a sister-in-law, Clara Jean Ocker.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.  Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 has been entrusted with the care.
