Lois Ruth (Balsbaugh) Borden, 97, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2022 at the Londonderry Village, Palmyra. She was born Saturday, September 20, 1924 to the late Mervin C. and Viola (Keller) Balsbaugh. She is predeceased by her loving husband Wallace E. Borden since 2002.
Lois graduated from Schuylkill Haven in 1942. She went on to work for the Palmyra School District for over 27 years and was a faithful member of the Palmyra 1st United Methodist Church. She was a part of the card club and sewing club for many years, and also enjoyed reading in her spare time. More than anything she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
She is survived by her daughter: Barbara Fernsler and husband Dean; grandchildren, Meghan Johnson and husband Benjamin and Jeremy Fernsler and wife Marianne; great-grandchildren, Madelaine, Margaret and Meredith Johnson and Lida and Roger Fernsler; and son-in-law, Robert Chaundy. She is predeceased by a daughter, Judy Chaundy and brother, Jay Balsbaugh.
A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, May 25 at 11:30 AM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
