Joan Clara (Easler) Duffy, 79, of Palmyra, formerly of Jamestown, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 20, 2022 at her home following a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, September 22, 1942 to the late Regis J. and Clara (Bair) Easler. She was predeceased in 2001 by her loving husband, Nicholas J. Duffy.
She graduated from Peabody High School in 1960, Mercyhurst University in 1980 and taught fourth thru sixth grade math and science at St. Michael School in Greenville. She was a member of St. Phillip Catholic Church in Linesville where she served as Lay Eucharistic Minister, Lecter and taught CCD for all grades. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and teacher who will be dearly missed.
She is survived by a son, Sean M. Duffy and partner Kathy of Palmyra; a daughter, Maureen L. Duffy and partner Mike of FL; a grandson, Garrett N. Duffy and wife Jamiera of IL; a great-granddaughter, Zara Duffy; a sister-in-law, Janice Easler. She was predeceased by two brothers, Regis Easler, Jr. and David Easler.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 13th at 1 PM at St. Philip Cemetery, Linesville with Father Chris Hamlett as Officiant. Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
