Tildon “Toots” F. Sides

Tildon “Toots” Filbert Sides, 91, Middletown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Harrisburg Hospital Pinnacle Health.  He was born Saturday, March 6, 1926 in Royalton to the late John Tildon and Esther Emma Nora (Koller) Sides.  He was predeceased by his loving wife Anna M. (Houser) Sides in 2008.      

Toots worked in the maintenance department for the Middletown School District. He spent summers in his cottage on Hill Island.  He enjoyed building and flying remote control airplanes as well as feeding his “critters.”   Toots was a member of the American Legion Post 0594.

He was survived by a son, Tildon J. “Butch” Sides and wife Karen; 2 grandchildren, Tildon J. “T.J.” Sides, Jr. and wife Raquel and Angela Mimbs and husband S. Bruce; 5 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by 5 siblings. 

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.  Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Fager-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 208 N. Union St., Middletown 17057. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Humane Society of Harrisburg, 7790 Grayson Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17111.
