Harry Joseph McLenegan

Harry Joseph McLenegan, 79, was born on December 20, 1937, in Royalton, PA and was the son of Harry J. and Hilda I. McLenegan of Middletown, PA, He passed away due to Parkinson’s on September 17, 2017.

He was loved and is survived by his wife, Dolores (Castillo) McLenegan; three children, Brian (Diane) McLenegan, Bruce (Terri) McLenegan, and Erin McLenegan; grandchildren: Devin Mumper (deceased), Kyle and Kaily McLenegan and Brayden and Branden McLenegan; and his brother, Samuel (Marilyn) McLenegan.

Harry was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force Det 1, 6988th Reconnaissance Squadron based at Yokota AFB in Okinawa, Japan. He was educated at Yale University as a linguist – specializing in Mandarin Chinese, and was an Interpreter aboard a B-29 bomber for intelligence reconnaissance missions.

He was employed by Zurich Insurance, and was a Personal Lines Manager for several states.  He will be best remembered for his Irish wit and humor, and love of a good joke and story. He enjoyed making others laugh and would go out of his way to get a chuckle whenever he could. Harry is dearly loved and greatly missed.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held Friday, September 22nd at 10:30 AM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Rt. 934, Indiantown Gap Rd., Annville, PA 17003 with Pastor Jeremy Shank officiating.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Fager-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 208 N.
