David Glen Cowan

David Glen Cowan, 68, of Middletown, went home to be with the Lord with family by his side on Sunday, June 26, 2016 in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.  He was born August 25, 1947 in Rockville to the late Harry and Mildred (Novotny) Cowan.  He is survived by his loving wife Deborah Eileen (Davis) Cowan.    

Dave proudly served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam.  He owned and operated Cowan Construction.  Dave was a member of Valley Baptist Church in Middletown and of Club Med Billiard Parlor.  He enjoyed vacations with his wife, spending time with family and spoiling his grandchildren.  He was a tremendous man full of love and life, who dedicated his life to serving others.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.    

“The Tops in Pops” is survived by his 5 loving daughters, Jodi Hurst (husband Matt), Denise Mial, Tammi Welsh (husband Geoff), Kelli Cowan, and Crystal Melton; 8 grandchildren, Mattilynn, Tristan, Dailah, Cameron, Kennedi, Carleigh, Taylor, and Isabel; 2 sisters, Jean Ponteri and Patricia Stroup; 2 cousins, William Schaefer and Charles Lamon, III; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by 2 sisters, Sandra and Roberta Cowan; and a special k-9 companion, Jake.       

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 30th at 1 PM at Fager-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 208 N. Union St., Middletown 17057.  Burial will follow Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.  Family and friends are invited for visitation from 11 AM until time of the service.
